The accuracy of lactation
records from a wide variety of testing plans can be compared using a DCR.
The end-user
determines the value to place on records coming from individual dairy
producers. A weighting factor is applied which tells how much information that
animal/herd will contribute to the evaluations. The greater the number of
supervised DHIA tests a dairy has within a year, the greater the DCR ascribed to
that record. Minimum DCR's for awards programs such as
ADGA's may be required.
You can keep track of
your doe's DCR by using the AIPL
query site (pedigree/lactation information). However, realize that a fully
supervised verification test may not always be reflected in the DCR score
provided by AIPL. A VT will always add to the total rating if you are on
an ITP or Owner Sampler plan.
