Group Test - A group of three or more people can test each other’s herd. Sampling and weighing occur as in C1.  Groups with more than three members may have non-goat owning members as long as there are a minimum of three herds involved.  Exception:  Groups formed prior to the adoption of these standards (10/00) and documented with ADGA may remain intact. Every member is required to take training from a Certified Supervisor and the group must follow rules for Standard testing.  Group members may include non-ADGA members or ADGA members using DHI (non-DHIR) plans provided they are identified to ADGA with proper training in ADGA and DHIR procedure.

ADGA ITP 01 – APT - Supervisor and owner share responsibility for collecting test day weights, alternating the AM & PM weighing each month.  Supervisor also collects component samples when weighing.  A time monitor must be installed.  Annual VT required.  Minimum Data Collection Rating (DCR) of 93 required for Top Ten awards.

ADGA ITP 02 – APCS - Supervisor and owner share responsibility for collecting test day weights, alternating the AM & PM weighing each month.  Supervisor also collects component samples when weighing.  Annual VT required.  Minimum DCR of 93 required for Top Ten awards.

DHIR 21 – APT - Supervisor collects one test day weight, alternating the AM & PM weighing each month.  Supervisor also collects component samples when weighing.  DRPC will determine 2^nd weight.  A time monitor must be installed.  Annual VT required.  Minimum DCR of 93 required for Top Ten awards.

DHIR 22 – APCS - Supervisor collects both test day weights.  Supervisor also collects component samples alternating AM and PM samples each month.  VT and minimum DCR of 93 required for Top Ten awards.

DHIR 23 – AP - Supervisor collects one test day weight, alternating the AM & PM weighing each month.  Supervisor also collects component samples when weighing.  DRPC will determine 2^nd weight.  Breed association may determine additional requirements.  Bulk tank comparison required.  Minimum DCR of 93 required for Top Ten awards.

O/S 40 - Owner/Sampler weighs and samples eeach month and is responsible for sending in samples and paperwork.  For STAR recognition, a minimum DCR of 75 is required PLUS a herd verification test when the herd is 60-150 Days in Milk.  New for 2010:  For ADVANCED REGISTRY, the same applies.  In addition, the animal must have 240 days in milk, 8 tests and the owner must provide documentation to ADGA regarding training.  This is for those interested in 10 months of testing each year.  CaDHIA requires owners to attend a tester training before choosing this plan!

DHIR 20 - Conditions: Verification Test (VT).

ADGA ITP 01 - Conditions: Owner must supply a pre-milking monitor time in addition to the monitor-supplied & supervisor time, so that a total of 3 times are documented.  Data Collection Rating must equal 93 or higher.  VT necessary.  No auditing during the year.  If eligible for Top Ten, barn sheets must be available to ADGA.

ADGA ITP 02 - Conditions:  Owner must supply a pre-milking weight in addition to the regular owner-supplied weight, so that a total of 3 weights are documented.  Data Collection Rating must equal 93 or higher.  VT necessary.  No auditing during the year.  If eligible for Top Ten, barn sheets must be available to ADGA.

DHIR 21 - Conditions: Owner must supply a pre-milking monitor time in addition to the DRPC-supplied weight & supervisor times, so that a total of 3 times are documented.  Data Collection Rating must equal 93 or higher.  VT necessary.  No auditing during the year.  If eligible for Top Ten, barn sheets must be available to ADGA.

DHIR 22 - Conditions:  VT and Data Collection Rating must equal 93 or higher.

DHIR 23 - Conditions: Owner must supply a bulk tank comparison and have an average of 96-110% of DRPC herd average.  Data Collection Rating must equal 93 or higher.  VT necessary.  No auditing during the year.  If eligible for Top Ten, barn sheets must be available to ADGA.

Standard or DHI-Conventional - DHI technician weighs and samples the milk from 2 consecutive milkings. Code 20.

AM/PM Component Sampling (APCS)- DHI technician weighs and samples one milking alternating AM and PM each test. Owner weighs and records prior milking. 1st test: AM - owner weighs and records (no samples); PM - technician weighs, records and samples. 22nd test: PM - owner weighs and records; AM - technician weighs, records and samples. Repeat 1st and 2nd test procedures throughout lactation. Code 02.

AM-PM without time monitor-(AP) Technician weighs and samples AM or PM, alternating each test period. Code 31

AM/PM Component sampling with timer - (APT) This test is the same as AP except a time monitor is required. Code 01.

Every-other-month (EOM) - DHI technician weighs, records and samples 2 consecutive milkings every other month. Owner weighs and records for the intervening months and sends barn sheets to their lab. Code 00.

Group - three or more owners testing each other’s herd. Any of the above recording programs may be used. All members must use the same program and be trained as a DHI technician.
